About Event

Learning Intentions:

  • Understand what Languages Offline means;

  • Put student needs first in the Languages planning process;

  • Give students the tools they need to be able to practise at home;

  • Examine Quizlet as a home learning option;

  • Explore Kahoot Challenge as a way to engage students;

  • Look at slide design with audio, video, graphics and text;

  • Explore student-parent-teacher feedback opportunities; and

  • Learn, share and collaborate with other Languages teachers.


Linton’s Bio: Linton is an Educational Consultant and Languages Coach for Catholic Education Melbourne. He is an experienced German teacher, who led the renowned Bayswater South Primary School Bilingual Program for many years. Linton is involved in the development of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approaches and assists schools to build sustainable models of languages education that are powerful and engaging for students, teachers and the wider community.

Linton has presented workshops and lectures in the fields of languages, science, music and educational leadership in Australia and overseas, and is currently working with teachers and leaders in a number of Melbourne schools. He has published articles in professional journals and has recently initiated a number of projects in which students and teachers work together to improve languages outcomes. Linton is passionate about modelling engaging strategies and using student feedback to inform planning and motivation.

Linton can be contacted for languages resources and professional learning programs for teachers and school leaders, with an emphasis on connecting quality pedagogy with student voice and program design.
