About Event

How can charities and community organisations build effective and safe online communities?

Join our June virtual Meetup for a show and tell from a selection of local social and digital organisations that have done just that during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speakers include:

  • Tim Holtam, Brighton Table Tennis Club To keep supporting their members during lockdown, BTTC have run over 70 Daily Shows and Fitness & Wellbeing activities for their members using Zoom.

  • Rebecca Groves, Wired Sussex Wired Sussex have carried on supporting their members through their Slack Community and by moving events (including the Skills and Talent Festival) online.

  • David Matthews, Grace Eyre Foundation Grace Eyre support people with learning disabilities and have had great success in setting up Friendship Groups using Facebook.

They'll share their practice, tips and challenges, and you'll have a chance to ask questions and share your own ideas and experiences.

This is part of the Tech for Good Brighton Digital Service Delivery Series. It's a friendly space to collaborate and find peer support. This series is run in collaboration with Community Works and Digital Brighton & Hove.

Please note this event will be recorded so we can share it with people that can't make it in person.
